Guwahati (Assam) [India], November 15 (ANI/PNN): The North East International Fashion Week – 2022 was held on November 12-13, 2022 in Guwahati. (NEIFW) The North East International Fashion Week has always been a big buzz all over the North East where all aspiring and notable fashion designers from India and abroad participate to showcase their exclusive designs for a noble cause. The whole event took place at the new complex NorthEast Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation, Pamohi, Gorchuk, Guwahati. The event was opened by (KVIC) Khadi Village Industries Commission NE Zone Director SUKUMAL DEB, NiponTalukdar, CMD of NKTV and National Award Winning Actress from Meghalaya- Sweety Jane Pala. NEIFW’s opening theme is “Fashion for All”, which means apart from designer shows, it’s an amazing platform for kids, teens and women who are into fashion. fashion. NEIFW is not just another fashion event but an event with always a social cause. The social theme for the event was previously for the nursing home; Eye and Body Organ Donations, Plant Trees and Protect the Environment, Shelter and Protect Animals with the international NGO PETA and many other animal welfare organizations. This 7th season we have all the top doctors in Assam partnered up to raise awareness of BREAST CANCER along with an exclusive Khadi seminar and fashion show. There were several eye-catching fashion sequences promoting KHADI, Handloom & Handicrafts through fashion shows from Handwoven Assamese Gamocha, Sikkim, Arunachal and Nagaland Handlooms. Traditional hand-woven clothing symbolizes the true spirit of small village industries and reflects our rich cultural heritage.

NEIFW is also an amazing platform that collaborates with neighboring countries and people from different cultures, this event is a great platform for young talents to show their talent and attract interest from all over the world. The 7th Season of (NEIFW) Northeast International Fashion Week 2022 welcomed aspiring fashion designers from all northeastern states and also neighboring countries like Nepal and Bhutan and the 1st day fashion show was opened by very famous Indian Bollywood designers – RAJDEEP RANAWAT who regularly designs for Bollywood actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Dipaka Padukone, Katrina Kaif and more. Designer Rajdip Ranawat’s sequence in Guwahati was choreographed by PRASANTT GHOSH.

The magnificent event is powered and organized by the Kreative People team – under Prasantt Ghosh, since 2015 – Prasantt Ghosh and his strong team leaders like Sanju Ray, Jiya Sharma, Pinky Das, Thaneswar Rovi, Nidhi Patni, Sidharth Barman and Chirag Baid have been rigorously working towards creating North East India’s largest fashion platform for the future of fashion and the international integration of North East’s rich craftsmanship. Kreative People, the event management group deserves praise for presenting such a vibrant and special evening that will be etched in people’s memory for years to come. The show featured Assamese bridal wear where top models from the northeastern state walked down the ramp in traditional mekhelachaddar in paat and muga in a range of electrifying colors – electric blue, gold and silver, lavender, mint, turquoise, mauve, sea green and you name it rich with patterns that dominated geometric patterns and ornate floral weaves and an assortment of jardozi and yarn. In the next round, slender models walked up the ramp dressed in gorgeous mugasalwar costume to make them look like queens, while the coupled rhythmic music provided a high tension to the round design by the designers. Northeast International Fashion WEEK (NEIFW) this year has gotten more exciting as Prasantt Ghosh, who has revived the legacy of rich Northeast craftsmanship around the world, is ready to spread social awareness in a new way through fashion. The fashion designer who led the creation of a new wave of fashion across the world by defining the authenticity of northeastern craftsmanship came up with a theme to support Prasantt Ghosh worked in shows all over India and in countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Nepal and so on. He was also awarded Best Fashion Choreographer of Northeast – 2011, Governor’s Wife Lifetime Achievement Award -2018 and Northeast Leadership Award – 2015 for his excellent service in fashion, textiles and crafts.

NEIFW always targets domestic/international buyers with the right trends and promotes North East loom and crafts. NEIFW also has an impressive range of designers and models from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
