The beginning of “Second of His Name” shows that it’s been three years since Daemon and Corlys went behind the King’s back to start a war with the Crab-Feeder, but have made very little progress in that time. Things change in the episode’s final act, however, as Daemon slashes the Crab-Feeder in a well-executed attack, dragging half of the feared pirate’s body out in the open for all to see. see him, his entrails sticking out of his chest.

The Crab-Feeder was securely ensconced in a cave in the middle of the Stepstones, a position that prevented Daemon’s forces from being able to do much. Even the dragon was of little use, as the high hills and fog surrounding the cave made it easy to lay traps. Daemon ultimately won the battle – and defeated the Crab-Feeder – by setting his own trap.

Daemon approached the cave with a white flag, offering surrender. When the Crab-Feeder’s men began to surround him, Daemon attacked, taking out as many as he could. This brought out even more cave men, trying to help kill Daemon. Once the pirates were exposed, Daemon’s dragon dove, followed by Corlys and her army. Daemon ended the conflict by killing the Crab-Feeder.

While the Crab-Feeder wasn’t necessarily a major character, his introduction in the second episode of Dragon House intrigued fans. There was hope that he would potentially be around for a while, serving as an antagonist to the Targaryens. Obviously that won’t happen.
