As you stroll Paseo de Gracia (a high-end fashion district in Barcelona), step into the world of Loewe and enjoy not only the Maison’s fashionable offerings, but also the works of art that make space a wonderfully curated reprieve.
Led by its creative director Jonathan Anderson, the vast reimagining of the place is now open to the public. Here, the Maison presents installations by artists such as Tanabe Chikuunsai IV, whose large-scale bamboo sculpture will be a focal point. Another work to look out for is Dramatic Black Hairy hug during by Haegue Yang which shares the entrance with a stained glass window by Richard Wright.

Dior opens a unique concept store in Seoul
On the occasion of the Dior Fall 2022 show in Seoul, the House is opening a unique concept store in Seongsu-dong, a district that was once an industrial area. Currently undergoing a renaissance, the district embodies an innovative and avant-garde spirit. This ephemeral space is designed to evolve with the seasons.
If the metallic mesh is emblematic of the facade of 30 Montaigne, the interior is an oasis that celebrates Monsieur Dior’s love for flowers. And while all of Dior’s different collections are housed in different organized spaces, the décor acts as the Korean constant that unites the entire store.
Quirky pieces by Korean designers like Kwangho Lee (who makes sculptural Styrofoam furniture) and Jeonghwa Seo (who fuses metal and natural fibers into furniture) can be experienced in this space. A true tribute to Korean craftsmanship, the icon of the House canvas of Jouy is reinterpreted on traditional Hanji paper, made by mixing mulberry fiber and natural wood pulp. Immersive media art created in collaboration between the label and Korean digital design firm d’strict is the latest surprise to be discovered at the Dior Concept Store in Seoul.
Louis Vuitton Bubblegram arrives
More fashion news: Louis Vuitton’s new handbags are here, and the collection is created with all-new design techniques specific to each model. Elegantly youthful, the calfskin used for this collection is supple and soft to the touch, with a bouncy cloudy effect. The leather is also impressed with Monogram embroidery, which gives a quilted look.
This particularity is a showcase of the House’s know-how since, for example, the Alma BB bag requires more than 15,000 stitches for its creation. Each piece is hand finished to support the utmost precision when placing seams.
The collection is available in a splendid color palette: ice blue, dragon fruit and banana for those who are thirsty for color, and snow and black for those who like the basics.
MIDO Eyewear unveils trends to try
In other fashion news, Luxottica’s MIDO 2022 highlights five major trends across different brands, and these are a few styles to consider – bold frames and iconic logos.
On both fronts, Prada and Burberry are strong. Presented at the Prada Spring/Summer 2022 show, the acetate model has a rectangular front with dimensional profiles and thick volumes. Another great frame you’d want to try, Burberry’s cat-eye sunglasses feature palladium-plated detailing inspired by the brand’s Olympia bag.
If you love logomania, these pairs are the ones to add to your collection. A glamorous version of the new Prada Symbol collection, this red pair features the Prada triangle logo on its temples. Alternatively, this Burberry pair comes in a square injected nylon frame, accented with a raised logo at the temples.
